Walking and Tracking Wild Dogs – 10 days
Walk on the wild lands of Zambia and Zimbabwe with us. This is your chance to track the African wild dogs of Mana Pools on foot. Walking safaris are one of the best ways to really experience Africa in the most authentic way. This circuit combines the beauty of Victoria Falls with the unique experience to track and observe wild dogs across Zimbabwe.
Day 1 and 2
On your arrival in Livingstone you will be met by a member of our team who will drive you the short distance to Thorntree River Lodge, upstream of the mighty Victoria Falls.
Thorntree River Lodge is the perfect place to start your journey. Walk with rhinos in the Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park, enjoy a sunset cruise, or relax and unwind at the spa. This is the perfect location to relax, get over your jet lag and set the scene for the adventures of the coming days.
Day 3 to 5
After your morning breakfast, check out and return to the airport to board a light aircraft that will whisk you to the incredible Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe.
Designed to deliver the experience of adventure and authenticity, Somalisa Expeditions Camp is an explorers paradise. Capturing the ambience of a mobile camp but without sacrificing any luxury. A visit to the Painted Dog Conservation Centre is part of this leg on the border of Hwange National Park.
Morning and evening game drives, bush walks to track the dogs with experienced and professional guides. Relax the afternoons away reclining on the deck watching as the elephants parade in front of the camp, drinking from the swimming pool.
Day 6 and 7
After a morning game drive and breakfast you will game drive to the airstrip where a light aircraft will be waiting to fly you into Mana Pools National Park.
Set in the most remote part of the World Heritage Site of Mana Pools is the Kanga Pan. The Kanga Pan is the only permanent water source for a 20km radius, which attracts a vast number of wildlife around the camp. Kanga Camp is renown to have the perfect setting for a unique ‘Armchair Safari’. The safari activities include morning and evening games drives as well as walking, allowing great conditions to track the wild dogs.
Day 8 to 10
After your morning game drive your guide will transfer you to the Zambezi Expeditions tented camp set on the banks of the Zambezi River, this is the ideal place to engage in walking safaris and soak up the most incredible sceneries your eyes will ever have beheld.
