All the other Big Five are easily spotted – even the hardest to find, the leopard – are quite relaxed here. Wild dog sightings (a once in a lifetime experience) are some of the best in Africa. The best time to go to see Wild Dogs is the middle of the dry season, when the area is most flooded. Food is usually plentiful and its possible to find the dogs denning.
For those who enjoy birding, there are some 500 different woodlands and water birds. Wildlife viewing is better from May to October when the brush has died down and the animals are easier to see.
