Description

Arusha Coffee Lodge

Arusha, Tanzania

Arusha Coffee Lodge is set on a 40 hectare coffee plantation on the outskirts of the town and close to the small domestic airport, it’s also close to the main road that leads to Lake Manyara, a 2 hour drive away. The lodge is an ideal place to stop over before or after your safari and is an interesting place to learn about an industry that has been around since the 1700’s.

The lodge has 30 plantation houses that lie nestled in amongst perfectly manicured lawns, palms and the ever present coffee bean plants. The original farmstead dates back to the 1900’s and all the guest accommodation is filled with the colors and textures of it’s heritage. The grounds are relaxed and idyllic with a swimming pool and surprises behind every bush. It is very difficult not to relax here and be awed by your surroundings.

The main guest areas of bar, dining room and lounge are all decorated in dark woods and red leathers that are reminiscent of the colonial predecessors.

Suites and Rooms

Coffee Lodge has 18 suites and 12 standard rooms which are all very old brick buildings that were built back in the 1980’s. Inside each one is beautifully decorated with solid wood beds, a small lounge area and a fireplace for the cooler evenings. The en-suite bathrooms continue the theme of luxury and warmth.

Food at Coffee Lodge was diverse, healthy and absolutely delicious. There is also the opportunity to buy some of their specially crafted coffee that is well worth taking home.
