Description
Bakers Lodge
Murchison Falls National Park
Opened in 2015, Baker’s Lodge has ten beautiful safari suites all raised onto decks and set along the southern bank of the Nile River. the lodge was named after the English explorer Samuel Baker – he was the first European to view the Murchison Falls as well as to name it.
Baker’s Lodge has created a very tranquil atmosphere where guests can enjoy a large diversity of bird life along the river’s banks. Hippo and Elephant are regular visitors. A central lounge under thatch, dining area and bar make for a welcome and relaxed area at the end of exciting days. Dinner under the stars and fireside drinks both create truly memorable experiences.
During the heat of the day guests are able to cool off in the swimming pool, in the lounge couches make a great place with a book while the river flows gently by. Sunsets here are a magical experience. In our expert opinion a minimum stay of 3 nights and ideally 5 will ensure you experience all the activities. This also allows time to explore Murchison Falls National Park and the surrounding areas.
Each of the thatched safari suites is raised off the ground on supporting concrete pillars and has its own deck overlooking the river. Sightings of the resident Hippo pod area common. Suites are set well apart and this creates a very private feel to your accommodation. The cottages are fan cooled with mosquito mesh windows. Comfortable wooden furnishings, hanging mosquito nets and specially selected accessories adorn the room and bathrooms. The en-suite bathrooms have solar heated showers, some of the cottages also having bathtubs.

- Bottom of the Falls boat cruise
- Nile Delta cruise
- Morning or afternoon sunset cruise
