Description

Borana Lodge

Borana Conservancy

 Open Year Round

Located on a hillside with stunning views of Mount Kenya, Borana Lodge is a striking structure and all the more for the waterhole directly below the main house. Free of the usual park regulations the area is vast and there is a wide variety of activities to choose from.

The main guest areas are separated and each has a different view out over the wilderness. One side has an infinity swimming pool overlooking the waterhole with sun loungers and a rustic bar. Above this is an open dining area for both lunch and dinners which are often at a communal table.

The other side of the hill, and down some stairs is a thatch and stone walled guest area with open sides. Here you will find a very comfortable lounge area as well as the fire area where guests congregate for pre dinner drinks. There is a second very large dining room here with fireplace and beautiful African murals hanging from the walls.

Cottages

Borana Lodge has 8 cottages that are all uniquely designed. Four of the cottages have large king size double beds while the other four all have two queen sized beds. The interiors are rustic with concrete flooring and sustainably harvested wooden furniture.

En-suite bathrooms in each cottage are very big with twin vanity basins, bath and a large shower area.

Family rooms are offered and are much simpler however these are at a much reduced rate and allow the children a measure of privacy. If there are three children an extra bed can be added.
