Busanga Plains Camp is a seasonal luxury safari camp located in the far north of Kafue National Park. The Busanga Plains are made up of 720km2 of palm forests, lagoons and reed beds packed with Papyrus. This is an extraordinary area of the park that is one of the few wetland wilderness areas still left in Africa.
The diversity of game and birds is incredible and visitors can expect to see Leopard in the palm forests, Cheetah and Lion on the plains as well as vast herds of Elephant. Plains game consists of Lechwe, Oribi, Roan Antelope, Hippo, Buffalo, Zebra and Blue Wildebeest.
This area of Kafue is vast with very few other lodges and delivers a safari experience that is completely authentic.
The main guest area at Busanga Plains Camp is a raised boma, open campfire and dining area and is simply yet tastefully decorated. There is a swimming pool as well as a unique viewing platform that has been built high up in the tree for guests to enjoy a truly spectacular view over the plains.
Luxury Safari Tents
Busanga Plains Camp has only 4 luxury safari tents ensuring an intimate and very private safari experience. All the tents overlook the plains and the open air en-suite bathroom is spacious. There is also a small private deck at the front of each suite. All the tents have 24 hour power.
