Description

Chem Chem Lodge

Kaiti

Chem Chem Lodge is situated within a private wildlife concession between Lake Manyara and the incredibly wildlife-rich Tarangire National Park of Tanzania. With just eight tented suites all tucked between tall palm and acacia trees that overlook expansive savanna grasslands.

Chem Chem Lodge has a stunning location and the ethos is slow safaris. The lodge offers a wide range of activities – many of which are not allowed in Tarangire National Park. Tents at Chem Chem are positioned around 100 metres apart ensuring complete privacy for guests.

Each tent has a reading area, dressing room and spacious bathroom that has both indoor and outdoor showers. Natural textures of canvas, stone and wood all blend with luxurious touches. The softest bed linen to the exquisite toiletries provide excellent comfort. A private sala has a shaded daybed, a great location for a lazy afternoon with a book or a siesta. Zebra and other wildlife grazing the plains provide perfect and relaxed game viewing from your suite.

Day trips to Tarangire National Park are possible or set out on a walking safari guided by a Maasai warrior who will share his vast knowledge of birds, mammals and plants. Additional highlights include bush breakfasts at a table at the foot of a 3,000-year-old baobab tree, sun downers overlooking Lake Manyara which in the rainy season is covered with pink flamingos.

Chem Chem Lodge provides a feeling of a vintage safari camp. The main area has a dining tent and outside fire pit for pre dinner drinks, fully-stocked bar, and a swimming pool hidden amongst the trees. A spa provides massages and other services.
