Description
Chikwenya Camp
Mana Pools
Open between April and November
Chikwenya in Mana Pools National Park lies at the heart of the Zambezi Valley. This is a remote, beautiful place with spectacular views over floodplains and mountains. Besides offering large concentrations of Buffalo and Elephant predators such as Lion and Leopard are often sighted. Greater Kudu, Burchell’s Zebra, Impala, Warthog and Waterbuck can be seen on the surrounding plains and the grunting of Hippo can be heard all day.
Mana Pools is famous for its large numbers of diverse wildlife as they concentrate along the river during the dry winter months. Buffalo graze along the river’s edges and elephant are abundant. Leopards are common, and lion are seen on almost every single game drive.
Luxury Tents
The camp has seven luxury tents, each overlooking the floodplains, river and mountains. There are two family suites, both with their own swimming pools. Beside the main building the swimming pool and its deck are a great place for game viewing while you soak up the sun.
Walking safaris with guide and armed scout are by far the very best way to experience the bush. After your morning game drive and breakfast set out for a walk along the river banks. The amount and diversity of game is astounding to even seasoned safari adventurers.
NOTE: Chikwenya is a seasonal camp that is only open between April and mid to late November.
