Chongwe River House
Lower Zambezi National Park
Exclusive use for 8 guests, privately guided activities.
Chongwe River House is an exclusive use 4 bed roomed house on the banks of the Chongwe River. Located on the Western boundary of Lower Zambezi National Park the house is spacious and has magnificent views over the river. This luxury house is completely self contained and staffed with a private chef, cleaning staff and guide.
Here your time stands still and the hosts and staff will assist you in planning your days around what you feel like doing. This flexibility of schedule is very well suited to a single or several families with children travelling together or for groups of friends on safari. The house is a short distance from Chongwe River Camp but still very private.
The main lounge, bar and dining area has a very earthy atmosphere with spaces that flow into one another. With no front barrier the interior flows beautifully out onto the front deck and swimming pool. A small pathway also leads down to the boat station where your river safaris will depart from.
The bedrooms at Chongwe River House are huge to say the least. All have been designed and built with natural materials continuing the theme of the living spaces. With 2 bedrooms on the ground floor and 2 upstairs all are completely open towards the river and perfect views of the scenery and landscape. The ground floor rooms have a rope screen for security at night over the front “windows”.
Every room has a super king sized bed but these can be made into twins for children sharing. Walk in mosquito nets provide protection at night.
The en-suite bathrooms are complete with a bath that is built into the frame of the house, hand basins and stunning waterfall showers.
