Description
Duma Tau
Okavango Delta
Duma Tau has been perfectly situated on the banks of the Linyanti River overlooking Osprey Lagoon. With water levels permitting water based activities focus on birding and the tranquil channels and waterways of the river. The area is best known for huge herds of Elephant during the dry season. Diverse Woodland, Mopane and floodplain habitats ensure a diversity of wildlife not often found in one area.
General wildlife includes Red Lechwe, Hippo, Crocodile, Zebra and Giraffe. These herbivores support predators such as Lion, Leopard, Cheetah, Wild Dogs and Hyena.
Activities
Morning and afternoon game drives as well as boating or mokoro excursions ensure access to many different types of habitats. Walking safaris are available on request and pre booking. Fishing the channels of this area for the fighting Tiger fish can be extremely exciting. The area is recognized as an Important Birding Area and is a popular area for twitchers. A “star bed” platform 45 minutes from camp for the more adventurous is available weather permitting.
Accommodation
Ten en suited tented suites accommodate just twenty guests and four children. Luxurious tents raised onto wooden platforms for maximum visibility from your private deck. A clear mesh front section gives excellent game viewing from the comfort of your bed! Beautifully appointed en suite bathrooms with both indoor and outdoor showers compliment each tent. Double vanity basins, in tent tea and coffee and WiFi all ensure perfect luxury.
Each suite is connected to the main area by raised walkways. In places these walkways fall to the ground to ensure free movement for wildlife that pass through the camp.
