Description

Ehlane Plains Camp

Eastern Serengeti

In an isolated area of the Eastern Serengeti lies Ehlane Plains Camp where the Acacia woodlands give way to expansive savanna grasslands filled with wildlife. The camp is situated close to several rivers which attracts a wide array of animals including Elephant, Giraffe, Zebra, Wildebeest and Warthog.

This is the Soit le Motonyi region of the Serengeti, only recently accessible it is rough country but also quiet and very remote providing guests with a true wilderness experience of Africa. The plentiful vegetation is a haven for herbivorous game and the associated predators of huge Lion prides, Leopard and large Hyena clans ensures unique interactions between the animals.

The remote location of the camp and lack of light pollution makes it ideal for a “star bed” experience and two of the tents have been adapted to take full advantage of this unique experience. Powered by both solar energy and a generator as back-up the camp is also wheelchair accessible and good for children 5 years and older.

Safari Suites

The 8 safari suites at Ehlane Plains Camp are all under canvas and blend in beautifully with their surrounding bush environment. Each of the suites, including the family suite,  includes a small lounge area, coffee table and writing desk. The king size beds are all enveloped with mosquito nets and there is a dressing area, carpets and locally made crafted cupboards.

The en-suite bathroom of each suite has double vanity basins, toilet and shower area.

Two of the suites have a platform adjacent to it that has magnificent views as well as a second bed for guests to sleep at night under the most stunning of star displays.
