Description

Elsa’s Kopje Meru

Meru National Park

Elsa’s Kopje Meru is one of the most beautiful and romantic safari hideaways in Africa. Built into the Mughwango Hill the camp has a commanding position over the landscape of Meru National Park and lies above the position of George Adamson’s original camp where he raised and released orphaned Lions back into the wild.

As the camp has been so carefully built into the hillside it is all but invisible from the plains below. Not a single tree was cut down during construction and the rocky hill makes for some interesting paths to and from the main area. Views over the 215 000 acres of Meru National Park are breathtaking and with a very healthy Rhino population there is an excellent chance of sighting these ancient animals.

Meru has been acknowledged as having the greatest diversity of animal species than any other park in Africa!

The main guest area at Elsa’s Kopje Meru is a very comfortable location where meals are served, there is a small bar and a swimming pool with more incredible views. There is also a spa facility.

Cottages and Private House

There are 10 cottages and a Private House at Elsa’s Kopje and all have different designs due to the topography of the hillside. Four of the Cottages are dedicated honeymoon suites that have private outside baths and a small terrace area for relaxing and enjoying the view.

Should you have any problems negotiating stairs and terrain ask us to booking you into one of the cottages that is close to the main area.

For families there is the Private two bed-roomed house that has a master bedroom with king size bed and the second room has twin beds. Both have their own en-suite bathroom and a private infinity pool.

Another great family camp is Jabali Ridge Private Retreat or head off to Little Oliver’s Camp or Elephant Pepper Camp.
