Finch Hattons Tented Camp
Tsavo West National Park
Finch Hattons Tented Camp combines contemporary luxury with all the romantic elements of a world class safari camp. Tsavo National Park is one of the oldest and largest national parks in Kenya. Established in 1948 the park spans 13 747 square kilometers and is situated in a semi-arid area previously known as the Taru Desert.
Finch Hattons is a three-time winner of ‘Africa’s Leading Safari Lodge’ (World Travel Awards). The camp combines big game safari experiences with elegant tents in Tsavo West National Park. We found this area the most beautiful section of the park, the camp’s 17 tents are nestled under Acacia trees around natural spring-fed pools. Hippo wallow and crocodile bask in the bright Kenyan sunshine right in front of your tent.
Contrary to most lodges Finch Hattons don’t have a strict schedule, days were crafted around our wishes. Most guests do choose the early morning and afternoon game drives as these are best for wildlife viewing. Maasai guides – their skin tinted red from the park’s fine dust, will track Lion, Giraffe, Zebra, Leopard and Elephant. Afternoon game drives always included sunset drinks with magnificent views over the lands.
Tented Suites
All of the 17 luxury suites combines an African elegance with luxury. Each is elevated to offer sweeping views of the surrounding landscape. The tents’ open-plan design lets the cool breeze in that drifts over the nearby natural springs, bringing the sounds and scents of the bush directly to you. If you’re travelling with friends or family, consider booking one of the two-bedroom tented suites – each of which has their own lounge and extensive outdoor deck.
Between drives there’s plenty of time to relax alongside the lodge swimming pool. The camp also has an impressive spa and a well-equipped gym.
