The lodge itself lies in amongst the indigenous vegetation creating a very peaceful atmosphere ideal from which to explore this incredible area.

The road to the lodge is mostly tarmac however the last few kilometres is gravel and passes some local villages that give an interesting insight into the daily lives of local Zimbabweans. Staff will meet you on arrival with a cool drink in the shade of the trees’ and welcome you to their little slice of heaven.

The reception area has a small curio shop and descending the path is the open area with tables and chairs and incredible views of the Batoka Gorge. As far as your eye can see is this phenomenal geological wonder, a deep chasm carved out through eons of water erosion. There is an honesty bar, comfortable lounge, WiFi and swimming pool with sun loungers.

Thatched Chalets

There are 10 thatched chalets at Gorges Lodge which all connect to the main area by stone pathways, all are perched on the edge of the gorge and afford the most beautiful views of the sunrise.
