Governors Il Moran Camp
Masai Mara
A premiere camp in the Masai Mara Governors’ Il Moran Camp is small and exclusive. This camp is absolutely ideal for honeymoon couples and people looking for that unique safari experience in Kenya. The camp is set well apart from the other camps in the area and along with its dense vegetation ensures a very private experience.
Game viewing from the comfort of your deck, bird watching or simply soaking up the incredible scenery of this camp can leave you breathless – never mind the game drives!
Just ten very spacious tents lie beneath the shade of an old stand of trees and the entire camp exudes rustic elegance with luxurious touches. Victorian-style claw foot baths and carved wooden beds frames complete the feel. En suite bathrooms are large with double vanity basins and open shower. During the day enjoy meals in the dappled sunshine on the river banks. in the evening, dinner is served by candlelight in the dining tent or al fresco under the stars.
The location of Governors’ Il Moran camp allows you to feel completely immersed and in touch with your natural surroundings. Elephant, Giraffe and myriad other wildlife wander past the camp as if you’re not even there. Hippo start their honking in the early evenings and by the time you’re warm in bed the sound of their feeding close to your tent is the loudest sound you will hear.
It is at Il Moran that the BBC wildlife documentaries Big Cat Diary and Planet Earth Live were filmed.
