Description
Kakuli Bush Camp
South Luangwa National Park
Kakuli Bush Camp is located in an area of South Luangwa that is well known for it’s very high game densities. The camp is seasonal and looks out over a floodplain of the Luangwa from an elevated bank affording great views and endless wildlife sightings from the comfort of your chalet deck.
The central guest area of Kakuli is a rustic thatched structure that is open at all sides keeping the area cool during the warmer parts of the summer months. The area has a bar, dining table and several comfortable couches from which to relax and enjoy the surroundings. The deck extends out over the rivers banks with a fire pit for pre-dinner drinks or breakfast with sunrise. Underneath the deck is access to the hide which is perfect for photography when animals come down to the waterhole.
Activities include morning and afternoon game drives and guided walking safaris are also possible.
Chalets
Kakuli Bush Camp comprises 5 tented chalet’s. All have canvas walls under a solid frame and can be opened to provide stunning views out over the river. The thatched roof and wire mesh windows ensure each is kept cool with the breezes. The small patio at the front has comfortable chairs and is a great space to bird watch or spot game.
A curtain separates the bedroom from the en-suite bathroom that has reed walls and cement flooring. A large shower, hand basins and amenities make these beautiful spaces to compliment the rooms.
