Description
Khulu Bush Camp
Hwange National Park
Adjacent to Hwange National Park, in the Sikumi Forest Reserve, lies Khulu Bush Camp. The camp overlooks a waterhole that in the dry season is very popular with large herds of Elephant that are also partial to the swimming pool water! Situated in a private concession that camp has private access to the National Park.
The open main guest area overlooks the waterhole and swimming pool and has comfortable seating and a communal dining table for evening meals. A staircase leads down to the fire pit which is closer to the waterhole and a perfect place for evening drinks and to watch the action at the waterhole.
The highlight of our stay here was the full day game drive into Hwange which is definitely worth doing. Afternoon game drives end with a spotlight drive looking for some of the nocturnal animals.
Tented Chalets
Khulu Bush Camp has 6 tented chalets that are all raised on wooden decks and accessed via a staircase onto a private deck. Sliding glass doors at the front reveal a spacious bedroom that can be made up with twin beds or a single double bed. The beds are enveloped with a mosquito net, electric blankets for the colder months and a ceiling fan.
Each room has a mini bar and tea / coffee making facilities.
The en-suite bathrooms have twin vanity basins, inside and outdoor showers and complimentary toiletries.
