Description

Kiba Point

Nyerere National Park / Selous Game Reserve

Closed 16 March to 31 May

Located just downriver from it’s sister camp, Sand River Selous, Kiba Point is a private, exclusive use camp that is ideal for families or groups of friends traveling together. The Rufiji River flows past the camp and offers both land and water based activities.

The camp has been designed with tasteful and very elegant décor that ensures her guests will enjoy the very best of their safari from the comfortable rooms to private guides and chef. The main guest area is a high ceilings thatched structure, open at the sides with lots of comfortable couches and incredible views. There is a very big central pool as well as private plunge pools at all the tents.

Both bush picnics and sand bar breakfasts after game drive can be arranged with dinners at a communal table at camp under the stars.

Safari Suites

The camp has 4 open sided suites raised off the ground and built with both stone and thatch. Large king sized beds adorn each room beautifully draped with a mosquito net. Sunbeds on the front deck, next to the private plunge pool is a serene place to spend the day. The en-suite bathrooms have an indoor and outside shower.

Fly Camping

This is a highly recommended experience and comes with a full staff compliment of guides and chef. We slept under very spacious mosquito net tents in the river bed and the stars and wildlife sounds added to an unforgettable night in Africa.

A bucket shower and “short stop” toilet completed the experience.
