Description

Kicheche Mara Camp

Mara North Conservancy

Kicheche Mara Camp is located in an area of dense and diverse wildlife. This is a classic tented camp that’s been tucked into a valley of Acacia trees’ looking out over the Olare Orok stream. The camp and tents have been well designed to provide a warm and relaxed atmosphere, with no fences the experience is amplified as animals roam freely.

The camps main guest areas’ are two basic canvas structures that are completely open to maximize on the views of the surrounding bush. There is a small but cozy lounge area that is a great place for relaxation between game activities. Lunch is usually served outside on the deck while dinners are in the covered dining room.

Tents

There are just 9 tents at Kicheche Mara that have great privacy from one another with views of the surrounding bush and have a very peaceful sensation. Named in Swahili after various animals they are well designed and cater to every need for a safari in Africa. A small deck at the front has comfortable chairs and it’s not uncommon to have Impala and Vervet monkeys within the camp.

An en-suite bathroom at the back of the tent is accessed through a flap and is simply yet tastefully decorated with great guest amenities. The water is from a borehole and can be slightly salty in taste so the camp provides filtered water for drinking and brushing your teeth.

Four of the guest tents have been designed as triples and quadruples for either families or friends that wish to travel together. The family unit has two bedrooms that are connected by a common lounge. Tents are spacious and when compared with other safari camps we have found Kicheche Mara’s the best for families and friends.
