Description
Kiri Camp
Okavango Delta
Open year round
Nestled under a grove of Jackalberry trees’, Kiri Camp overlooks the Kiri Channel in the South East of the Okavango Delta. The camp lies on an island in a community run concession and provides game drives, walking safaris and various water activities.
The camp opened in July of 2020 and we have not yet had the pleasure of visiting personally but we are confident that this is going to be a superlative camp in the Machaba stable. The camps location ensures a good variety of safari activities that include game drives, walking safaris on nearby islands, mokoro trips, catch and release fishing and a spa service for relaxing between activities.
From September to April the water activities do depend on the flood waters arriving, however, game viewing in this area is known to be excellent. Interactions between Buffalo and Lion can be particularly exciting and sightings of Wild Dog are not rare.
Luxury Safari Suites
Kiri Camp has 8 standard tents and 2 family tents. All the tents are built on raised wooden decks and are spacious open rooms with fantastic views. Each tent is rectangular with open canvas walls leading out to an expansive deck area with loungers and a table and chairs.
The en-suite bathrooms lead off the bedroom and are equally spacious and luxurious. The shower area is completely open to the sky and makes for an incredible experience at night.
The family tents are two bedrooms, each with their own en-suite bathroom and connected by a central lounge area.
