Kwando Kwara
Okavango Delta
Kwando Kwara is one of the ultimate Okavango Delta experiences. Located in the far North of the Delta the camp overlooks a secluded lagoon filled with Hippo. The camps location provides excellent access to the clear meandering streams of the Delta which are ideal for a variety of water based activities. The surrounding dry land areas are much sought after for the incredible game viewing opportunities they afford guests.
Game drives can be conducted both day and night, mokoro trips and fishing between March and December. Equipment is provided. Double deck boat trips give perfect views over the Godikwe Lagoon in the waters of the Moremi Game Reserve. There is an incredible diversity of bird life, especially during nesting season.
Kwando Kwara is famous for it’s very consistent sightings of predators which include Lion, Cheetah, Leopard and if you are very fortunate – White Rhino. Large herds of Elephant are also regular visitors to the area, as well as Giraffe, Zebra, Sitatunga, Lechwe, Impala and Hippo.
The Camp
The camp has 9 canvas tents, each tent has a spacious deck overlooking the lagoon, an en-suite bathroom with both indoor and outdoor showers and a stunning stand alone bath with views out to the floodplains. A ceiling fan and mosquito nets keep the rooms comfortable.
The main area of the camp sits in the center of the guest tents and has a dining area, lounge and curio shop. Kwara also has two small pools at each end of the camp for the hotter parts of the day and more private lounge areas. Next to each pool is a small bar and pool loungers for the afternoon siesta period. Kwara offers a digital detox experience, there being no WiFi and no cell phone connectivity.
The age limit for Kwara is 18 years of age and there are no family rooms. Family rooms are available at Splash.
