Description
Kwando Lebala
Kwando Concession – Linyanti
Kwando Lebala camp is located within the Kwando Reserve, the reserve is 573,000 acres of private and completely un-fenced wildlife sanctuary. With it’s origin deep in Angola the southerly flowing Kwando River drains an area of over 500 000 square miles and empties into the Indian Ocean.
Kwando Lebala overlooks the floodplains of the Kwando River, a very unique and diverse ecosystem that many animals call home. With plains animals are the ever present Lion, Leopard, Cheetah and Hyena. Elephant, Hippo and Buffalo love the lush vegetation the river provides them with. The camp is fortunate not to have Mopane woodlands nearby making traversing of the concession easier.
The Camp
The camp has just eight beautifully decorated tents with unique mosquito mesh walls allowing for fresh and cooling breezes to pass through. Views from each of the tents are magical and stretch as far as your eye can see. A private deck out the front is a great place to relax and bird watch or quietly observe an Elephant feeding close by.
The en-suite bathroom has twin vanity basins and stunning double outside showers. A family tent has an additional twin bedroom which is ideal for parents with young children. Peace of mind that everyone sleeps in the same tent.
The main guest area of the camp includes a swimming pool, fire place for pre-dinner drinks and dining room. The bar and lounge area are comfortable places to relax after dinner or during the day. For honeymoon couples or special occasions an outdoor private dinner is easily arranged.
