Description
Kwetsani
Okavango Delta
Kwetsani is one of the most remote camps in all the Okavango Delta. Situated within the Jao concession the area boasts fantastic herbivore and predator sightings. Dense stands of vegetation, lush palm covered islands and papyrus lined water channels all add beautiful allure to this mystical camp.
Wildlife includes Hippo, Red Lechwe, Elephant, Crocodile and Tsessebe. The herbivores are followed closely by both Lion and Leopard. The water and dense stand of trees and vegetation supports diverse bird species that include Wattled Crane, Slaty Egret and Rosy Throated Longclaw.
Activities
Kwetsani activities are divided between the water and the land depending on the rains in Angola. Morning and afternoon game drives in open sided Landrovers ensure good access to this huge concession and sightings are fantastic of many different wildlife species.
Fishing can be done from motor boats on a catch and release basis and walking safaris to explore the smaller animals of the Okavango are well worth the time. Guides at Kwetsani are very knowledgeable. Scenic helicopter flights, at additional cost, and half day excursions to the Tsodilo Hills are also available.
Accommodation
With just five tents accommodating 10 guests Kwetsani is neither too small nor too big. Tents sit under a canvas roofing all on raised decks. Glass entrance doors grace the front of each tent allowing for stunning views of the floodplain in front of each. En suite facilities for each tent include an indoor and outdoor shower as well as a private deck with great views over the floodplains.
