Description

Kwihala Camp

Ruaha National Park

Open 1 June to 30 November

Kwihala Camp has been in Ruaha National Park for many years now. There has been a recent renovation of all the camp in order to upgrade the soft furnishings and the camp is now looking stunning.

The camp blends into her surroundings in a chic and stylish way, luxury has not been compromised but guests still feel they are in a wilderness safari camp.

The main area of Kwihala Camp is a beautiful open spaced area that looks over the dry Mwagusi River. While most of the finishes are quite rustic and simple this is the theme at Kwihala and it has been presented with panache. Walking out of the main area under an awning are some chairs for relaxing in and game watch over a cool drink in the afternoons.

Kwihala Camp has been well placed in a secluded valley with views over the dry river where elephants can often be seen digging for water. Some of the tents have good views of the Ikuka Falls and animals are regular visitors through the camp.

Safari Tents

The six safari styled tents are very spacious with quite simple furnishings that don’t compromise on the luxurious feel of each. The en suite bathrooms have double vanity basins and a safari style shower. Each morning and evening a tank above the shower is filled with hot water for guests convenience. A shaded deck in front of each tent provides a comfortable way in which to spend the hotter parts of the day.

A stunning camp in the same area is Jabali Ridge, alternatively, not far away is Roho Ya Selous in the Selous Game Reserve – we would highly recommend this destination for walking safaris.
