Lemala Mpingo Ridge

Tarangire National Park

Open year round

Located on an escarpment in Tarangire National Park is Lemala Mpingo Ridge that overlooks the Tarangire River. The park is not one of the major safari destinations but combines all the classic African landscapes, savanna, green hills, dense woodlands and is well known for it’s huge Elephant herds.

As the sixth largest park in Tanzania it provides a real wilderness experience for guests with huge ancient Baobab trees’ and an astounding array of bird species. Game viewing in the park is excellent year round and can be easily combined with the Serengeti or Ngorongoro Crater.

The main guest area is also elevated and views stretch far beyond the horizon. A large lounge area has been beautifully combined with the bar and meals are served both inside and outdoors on warm evenings. Both a spa and swimming pool provide welcome relaxation.

Morning and afternoon game drives as well as walking safaris are offered from the lodge.

Tented Suites

The 15 rooms at Mpingo Ridge are evenly spread on the Eastern and Western sides of the escarpment for dramatic sunsets and sunrises depending on your preference. One of the rooms is a two bed-roomed family unit.

King sized beds or twins are enveloped with billowing mosquito nets and the suites are spacious with a lounge area boasting a very comfortable couch and the dressing area has ample clothing space. Guest amenities include a mini bar and tea / coffee station for an early morning brew.

The private deck has a sunken lounge area and second bath with amazing views over the plains. The en-suite bathrooms have dual stone vanity basins, shower and bath.
