Description

Lemala Ndutu Mobile Camp

Southern Serengeti

December to March. Closed April – November

Located in the Ndutu region of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area is Lemala Ndutu Mobile Camp, near the border of the Southern Serengeti. The landscape is typical African scenery of wide open plains lush with fresh and nutritious green grasses, it is one of the best locations to witness the Great Migration between December and March each year.

During these months there are hundreds of thousands of Zebra, Wildebeest and Thompson’s Gazelle that have followed the rains as they move and feed on the growth of new grass. In February the calving season begins when over 700 000 newborn Wildebeest and Zebra foals are dropped to begin a rather perilous life.

With the new life comes very high concentrations of cats, Lion and Cheetah favor this area at this time for easy pickings and the Hyena are very close behind. Interactions here are not for the faint of heart and can be brutal.

Safari tents

The 9 tents of Lemala Ndutu are situated on the edge of a permanent marsh, a natural magnet for the animals and game viewing from the comfort of your tent is never ending.

Each tent is spacious with two queen sized beds that are enveloped with mosquito nets at night. Each tent can also be made into a triple for a family tent. There is a small deck at the front of each tent where guests can relax between game drives and enjoy the scenery.

The en-suite bathroom in each tent is surprisingly decent with vanity basins, toilet and a safari style bucket shower. Children are welcome, please inquire with us for arrangements.
