Description
Lemala Ngorongoro Tented Camp
Ngorongoro Crater
Open year round
Lemala Ngorongoro Tented Camp lies on the Eastern side of the Crater, a more secluded and quieter section of this spectacular conservation area. Amidst some old Acacia trees’ the lodge is close to an access road making for fast and convenient access to the crater floor.
The ease of access to the crater floor each morning is important for photographers who are looking for the golden light that makes for incredible images. The camp also offers escorted walks along the crater rim and into the forest with a Masai guide and armed ranger.
At the main guest area is a large dining tent for communal meals as well as a help yourself bar and lounge area. Pre dinner drinks are served at the fire each evening to socialize and swap safari stories. The camp is often visited by both Buffalo and Elephant.
Safari Tents
There are 9 spacious tents at the lodge, all spaced out to the East of the main guest area with views out over the plains. Decor inside the tents is a mixture of local dark colors and lighter couches with Masai red interspersed. Tents can have either twin or a king size bed and all are enveloped with mosquito nets.
There is plenty of space in the tents for luggage, writing desk and chairs. The en-suite bathrooms are behind a canvas screen with clothes storage area, a copper hand basin, shower and toilet. Hot water is provided on request and is very quick to arrive, there are warm robes and hot water bottles in your bed when you get back after dinner.
