Little Governors Camp
Masai Mara
Little Governors Camp is a very intimate camp. With just 17 luxury en-suite tents tucked around a large watering hole in the Masai Mara it reflects the safari style of privacy and character. The waterhole literally teems with both bird and wildlife. Located on the lip of an old oxbow lagoon of the Mara River it has become a wide marsh area that is frequented by Elephants.
The camp is accessed by boat across the Mara River followed by an escorted walk through the forest to your accommodation. The game drive vehicles are left on the opposite river bank and this ensures that the camp is quiet and undisturbed. Little Governors’ has the very best “bush” atmosphere out of the three Governors’ camps, you’re rarely in any doubt that you’re completely at one with the African savanna.
Guest tents are spacious with private decks for guests to enjoy the constant game activity around the watering hole. Be wary of the Elephants which sometimes visit the camp.
All activities are tailored to make the most of this unique wilderness area, morning and afternoon game drives in the Masai Mara National Reserve, guided walking safaris, hot air balloon safaris, and visits to the community projects and Masai Manyatta. Game viewing from your deck, in the open vehicles or on a walking safari makes little difference as the wildlife sightings are spectacular everywhere.
