Description

Little Mombo

Okavango Delta

Little Mombo is a small and intimate camp situated in the heart of the Okavango Delta. Constructed in a grove of Jackalberry and Sausage trees with views over a floodplain that is home to an incredible abundance of wildlife. Due to the vast area available for game drives the camp has earned the name “place of plenty”.

The camp shares part of the 111 000 acre Moremi Game Reserve and is located on Chiefs Island. The habitats comprise vast tracts of Mopane woodlands that are interspersed with Kalahari sand and acacia. Floodplains, palm islands and riverine forest all blend seamlessly to create homes for a surprising diversity of animals and birds.

Predator sightings are frequent, especially Lions with Hyena and Leopard sighted regularly. Large herds of Buffalo, Giraffe and varied antelope species all ensure a rich variety of game viewing. Chiefs Island is also home to White and Black Rhino, the only place in the Okavango where you will find these prehistoric animals.

Morning and afternoon game drives with limited night drives due to the Moremi Game Reserve rules. The island is an IBA (Important Birding Area) with the choice of two hides for bird watching and large herd of Elephant and pods of Hippo.

Luxury Tents

Just three tents, each with its own plunge pool, the design is unashamedly luxurious. A gym, spa and yoga deck will ensure you’re always relaxed and content in this stunning camp. Tents are built on elevated wooden decks with private veranda’s overlooking game filled plains.

Scenic helicopter flights can be arranged at prior request and day trips to the Tsodilo Hills World Heritage Site can also be arranged.
