Description
Little Tubu
Okavango Delta
Little Tubu nestles on an island in the Western area of the Okavango Delta. This island retreat is within a concession of permanent swamps, forests and dryer savanna types of vegetation. The diverse habitats ensure excellent birding of Meyers Parrots, Dicksons Kestrels and Swamp Nightjars.
Little Tubu borders the Moremi Game Reserve ensuring large herds of Elephants in the area. The camp is 100% solar powered and very intimate. This is a place to be completely isolated – no WiFi is offered here. A swimming pool and “star bed” experience are the pinnacles of the camp.
Activities
Morning and afternoon game drives as well as night drives are conducted at Little Tubu in open sided Landrovers. Quiet mokoro excursions and fast motor boats allow guests to explore the many waterways and channels of the concession. Walking safaris are also available. For the adventurous fishing can be done on a catch and release basis.
The “star bed” experience is a 20 minute drive from camp. Scenic helicopter flights and excursions to the Tsodilo Hills are well worth the time.
Accommodation
With just three luxury tents available the camp is very intimate and exclusive. Just six guests are privileged to share this space with the wildlife and the low numbers ensure a rich experience. The luxury canvas tents are all raised at least two meters above the ground and give stunning views of the surrounding areas. All the tents have en suite facilities with both indoor and outdoor showers.
Each tent has its own private deck with views over the floodplains and the abundant wildlife that wanderers past all day.
