Description
Little Vumbura
Okavango Delta
Little Vumbura is an island paradise in the heart of the Okavango Delta. The Vumbura Concession is leased from the local community ensuring a greater awareness of the benefits of the Okavango to the local people. Water based activities are the main focus at Little Vumbura with mokoro excursions and boating exciting along the papyrus lined channels of the Okavango Delta.
The annually flooded grasslands of the Okavango around Vumbura Plains are locally referred to as ‘melapo’ and offer good sightings of Elephant, Giraffe, Impala, Sable antelope, Kudu, Zebra, Common Waterbuck and Reedbuck. Predators include the African Wild Dogs, several resident prides of Lion, as well as Leopard, Cheetah and African Wildcat.
