Pioneer Camp is the most secluded of all the Londolozi camps. With both river front and bush suites guests are assured of absolute luxury and privacy. Game drives, bush dinners and walking safaris provide magical African safari experiences. The camp can be booked for exclusive use.

Londolozi Pioneer Camp

Londolozi Pioneer Camp is steeped in the history of Londolozi Private Game Reserve. The camp has been designed to combine a colonial style with contemporary African culture. The main guest area of Pioneer Camp is spacious and open. There is a kitchen, dining area and sitting room. This area affords guests of magnificent views of the African bush.

Londolozi has often been described as the original safari destination. Pioneer Camp is the most secluded of all the camps and has a reputation of absolute excellence.

Accommodation

Accommodation available at Pioneer Camp comprises three suites and three river front chalets. The camp accommodates a maximum of twelve guests allowing for both privacy and intimacy. Guest suites are spacious and open with a private deck from which to enjoy the sights and sounds of Africa.

En suite bathrooms have both indoor and outside showers, double vanity basins and luxurious finishes. A romantic “sala” – or open area, graces each deck. A perfect place for an afternoon nap while bird watching or reading.

Safari

Safari activities at Londolozi are both morning and afternoon game drives on the 35 000 acre reserve. Big Five sightings here include Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Rhino, Buffalo and Hippo. Private bush dinners, bush breakfasts and cultural visits are must do experiences while staying here.

How to Get There

Fly in

Federal Air operates a daily flight from Johannesburg International Airport to Londolozi Airstrip, which is a five-minute drive from the camp.

Flights from Skukuza

  • There are daily direct flights with SA Airlink from Johannesburg and Cape Town to Nelspruit KMIA and Skukuza Airport and the private game lodges.
  • A short, small aircraft transfer connects you onward to Londolozi’s doorstep on Airlink’s Lodge Link service to the Londolozi Airstrip
  • Alternativaley a 90 minute road transfer from Skukuza Airport to Londolozi is available on request.

 

By Road

If you are planning to fly in to KMIA (Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport) there is a two and a half hour transfer available on request.

From Johannesburg it is a 500 kilometer journey, an easy six-hour drive on National Roads.

The Sabi Sand Wildtuin levies a cash vehicle entrance fee of ZAR280.00 per vehicle and ZAR120.00 per person in the vehicle as well as any individual arriving by air. (subject to change)
