Description

Londolozi Varty Camp

As the original camp form 1969 Londolozi Varty Camp is the one most steeped in history. Generations of both the Varty and Taylor families have called this camp their home. Nelson Mandela came to Varty Camp soon after his release from prison and was a firm friend of the family.

The camps central thatched area is perched on the banks of the Sand River and has excellent views of the surrounding bush. This is a great area in which to relax in comfort and let the friendly staff make you feel right at home.

Children over the age of six are welcome at Vartys Camp. Their Cubs Program will bring the bush to life in an informative and exciting way.

Accommodation at Varty Camp

The ten chalets, including two Superior chalets, feature superlative furnishings and stunning en suite bathrooms. The Superior chalets are also equipped with an outdoor shower. Each chalet has a thatched sala for afternoon naps or private dining at night. The private swimming pool is great for refreshment during the heat of the day.

Guest facilities include a gym, the Londolozi Photographic Studio and Living Boutique. Guests from all camps are invited to make use of these facilities as well as the Yoga Deck, situated next to Founders Camp.

Also found within Varty Camp is the newly appointed Healing House – a concept that takes you beyond the spa. There is a special yoga deck as well for guests to make use of.
