Description
Machaba Camp
Okavango Delta
Open year round
Located on the edge of the Moremi Game Reserve, Machaba Camp lies in the 35 000 hectare Khwai Concession of Northern Botswana. The traditionally styled camp is remote and known to be in an area of the most abundant wildlife.
The camp looks out onto one of the crystal clear channels with Sycamore Fig trees providing plenty of shade for the tents. The permanent waters of this area ensure excellent year round game viewing and is a good choice for bookings during the safari shoulder season.
The main guest area of Machaba is classic old school safari tents. One of the structures is home to a small bar area and has comfortable chairs and couches with a very well stocked library on Geology, Fauna and Flora of the area. The guiding here is exceptional. The second tent houses the dining room, separate tables for breakfast and communal meals in the evenings.
Luxury Tents
All of the 10 tents at Machaba are set back from the edge of the water with timber frames and a small deck at the front of each. Polished concrete floors of the spacious rooms are adorned with carpets and double or twin beds. Two of the tents are purpose built family tents that are linked and have a bathroom at the back.
The tents are not short of space and the concrete deck at the front has comfortable directors chairs for lazy afternoon game viewing.
The en-suite bathrooms have twin vanity basins as well as indoor and outside showers.
