Musekese Lodge – Kafue National Park
Arriving in Lusaka you will be met and transferred to Musekese Lodge in the Northern part of Kafue National Park. This part of the reserve is fed by the mighty river that gave the park its name. Wildlife abounds with wide open plains supporting Cheetah and Lion while the thicker forests hide elusive Leopards.
Morning and evening game drives but the highlight is the walking safaris in this area. Incredible savanna plains littered with antelope and Elephants. thicker riverine areas reveal Bushbuck, Kudu and Impala herds, ideal prey for Leopard.
Kafunta River Lodge – South Luangwa National Park
Arriving in South Luangwa is a dream come true of mystical bush and vivid wildlife. Your chalet on the banks of the Luangwa River is a panorama of Giraffe, Elephant and Zebra, baby Puku around each corner. Morning and afternoon game drives, walking safaris and night drives but the walking is by far the best all of Africa has to offer.
While at the lodge you can relax in the privacy of your chalet or on your viewing deck. Alternatively, cool off in the infinity pool while keeping an eye on the game drinking at the waterhole. The lodge also features the only natural hot spring tub in Mfuwe, a wellness spa and a gym.
After Kafunta you will have the choice of heading to either of the bush camps. At these rustic camps, you will spend a few days immersed in the beauty of the African wilderness. Three Rivers Camp is located between the Luangwa River and a pristine lagoon teeming with wildlife. This tented camp has en-suite bathrooms and star-gazing platforms where you can spend the night if you wish.
Island Bush Camp features rustic accommodation built from sustainable materials. Its stilted chalets also provide safety from wild animals while providing an unlimited view of the Luangwa River. You will return to Kafunta River Lodge for 2 more nights to enjoy exciting game drives in this wildlife-rich area. Services end after the return flight to Lusaka.

Fly In
You can fly directly into Lusaka with either Emirates, Ethiopian Airways, Kenya Airways or South African Airways.
On arrival in Lusaka a driver/guide will be waiting for you in arrivals, he will have a small board bearing your name.

Full Itinerary
Day 1 – Musekese Lodge
Road Transfer Lusaka – Musekese Lodge (4 hours). This is a new seasonal camp, with 4 exclusive tents overlooking the Kafue River. The river and its surrounding lagoons support incredible biodiversity. Depending on your arrival time, you will participate in the afternoon safari departing at 15h30.
Day 2 to 4 – Musekese Lodge
At this remote camp you can enjoy multiple activities such as game drives, bush walks and river safaris. Enjoy an early morning breakfast before going out to explore the wilderness. Have lunch in camp before a well-deserved siesta, then tea and an afternoon activity.
Day 5 – Kafunta River Lodge
Road Transfer Fig Tree to Lusaka (5 hours); Flight Lusaka – Mfuwe with Proflight (70 mins). Arrival in Mfuwe where our driver will collect you at the airport and transfer you to Kafunta River Lodge (50 mins) passing through various villages. Depending on your arrival time you will participate in the afternoon safari leaving the lodge at 15h30.
Day 6 – Kafunta River Lodge
Enjoy an early breakfast and depart for your morning game drive at around 06h30. You will be back at the lodge around 10.30. Relax at the pool, book a spa treatment or enjoy a siesta on your viewing deck before meeting for afternoon tea at 15h00. The afternoon game drive departs at 15h.30 and returns at 19h30.
Day 7 – Island Bush Camp
Today you participate in the morning game drive at Kafunta River Lodge. After brunch at the lodge, you will depart for the 2.5-hour transfer to Island Bush Camp. Upon arrival you will be welcomed by our camp staff and you can choose to jump on the departing game drive or rather settle in nicely in camp at your leisure and enjoy the sunset from the privacy pf your viewing deck while sipping your sundowner. Dinner is served al fresco in company of the camp manager and our other guests.
Day 8 – 9 Three Rivers Camp
An early continental breakfast is served by the fireplace before heading out on your morning activity, either a walk or a game drive. You will be back at the lodge for brunch and a siesta. The afternoon game drive departs around 15h30 and returns in time for dinner. Decide to spend the night in your tent or under the stars on the appointed platform next to your tent.
Day 10 – Kafunta River Lodge
This morning you will have a walk or game drive, followed by an early brunch at Three Rivers Camp, before the transfer back to Kafunta River Lodge. You will be arriving at the lodge around 14h30 and you can relax before joining afternoon tea and the afternoon game drive.
Day 11 – Kafunta River Camp
This morning you will have a walk or game drive, followed by an early brunch at Three Rivers Camp, before the transfer back to Kafunta River Lodge. You will be arriving at the lodge around 14h30 and you can relax before joining afternoon tea and the afternoon game drive.
Day 12 – Departure
Depending on our flight departure time, you may have the time for a last morning game drive in the park. Our driver will then take you to the airport, with an optional stop at Project Luangwa’s craft shop or Tribal Textiles (to be scheduled in advance, allow an extra 45 mins) in time for the flight’s check-in time.
