Description

Namushasha River Lodge

Caprivi Strip

Namushasha River Lodge celebrates the wonders of the Zambezi water world. With beautiful accommodation on the river banks there is a magical feeling here that enraptures you. With Elephants, Hippo, myriad bird species and waterlilies all keeping you company in the African bush. A visit to Namushasha provides an enriching adventure into this vast swamp.

With the sound of Reed Frogs, bird calls, Baboon grunts and the soothing sound of nature surrounding you. Our afternoon boat cruise started from the lodge and within minutes we had a herd of over twenty Elephants along the river banks. Quietly grazing they were a humbling sight. Crocodile resting on sand bars were a regular sighting.

The morning game drive into Bwabwata National Park was a short boat ride to the vehicles. The game drive was excellent. Lion spoor in the road has us searching for the pride, without success. In the evening we found the pride still resting in the shade of a tree.

One of the most captivating lodges in the Caprivi, Namushasha River Lodge offers guests a superlative choice of exciting activities. Stroll past the green-lawned campsite to the traditional heritage center or hop aboard the river boats for early morning or late afternoon river cruises. These are a great opportunity to explore the channels and discover the diverse bird life.

At the end of the day, there’s nothing that can quite compare to a red Zambezi sunset.
