Ngala Private Game Reserve
&Beyond Ngala Tented Camp is situated in the Ngala Private Game Reserve, which shares an un-fenced boundary with the world-renowned Kruger National Park. This is South Africa’s largest wildlife sanctuary. A spectacular diversity of wildlife moves through this immense wilderness. These include breeding herds of Elephant, Leopard, Spotted Hyena, Giraffe, Buffalo herds and White Rhino. The reserve supports several large prides of Lion, and African Wild Dogs can also be seen.
Ngala has exclusive traversing rights over 14 700 hectares of game-rich wilderness. Game drives are led by expert ranger and tracker teams while careful off-roading practices allow close-up game sightings. Walking safaris and bush walks are also offered.
The annual lease, traversing fees and a percentage of Ngala’s profits from your stay are paid to the National Parks Trust. This furthers conservation efforts on the reserve.
Accommodation
&Beyond Ngala Tented Camp is well known for it’s beautifully crafted tented accommodation.The camp is made up of nine luxurious tented suites set on raised platforms with lovely en-suite bathrooms. Swirling overhead fans and air conditioning are provided for the warmer months and electric blankets for winter. Each suite has it’s own private wooden deck.
Raised on a platform each tented suite blends into the riverside trees, minimizing the impact on the bush. Indigenous shade trees form a cool canopy overhead and inviting guest areas overlook the seasonal Timbavati River. The camp’s pool, which follows the contours of the riverbank, is perfect for idle afternoon game viewing. The massage sala adds a touch of pure indulgence.
The cuisine at Ngala Tented Camp is original and delicious. Private lunch platters can be enjoyed on the viewing decks, at the poolside or on the lush lawn. Bush dinners in the dry riverbed make for an unforgettable safari experience in Africa.
