Description
Nkonzi Bush Camp
South Luangwa National Park
Nkonzi Bush Camp is set amongst the grassy plains and dense forests of South Luangwa National Park. Just to the North of the camp the Luwi River attracts a great diversity to her waters ensuring excellent game viewing. As a location the camp has very few close neighbors giving guests a very remote experience in a game rich area of the park.
The camps wilderness location is completely unspoiled by any light pollution and the night skies, Milky Way and star gazing is of the highest quality at night. Still quite easily accessible, the main park gate is just a 45 minute drive away with transfers from Mfuwe Airport a comfortable one and a half hours game drive.
Nkonzi is owned and operated by Gavin Opie, a highly experienced walking guide and both walks and game drives are enthralling experiences. Walks and drives focus on the less visited parts of the park and full day expeditions can also be arranged for completely immersive days in the bush.
For self drive guests traveling by road, there is a small office near the park entrance that offers secure parking for the duration of your stay.
Tents
Each spacious safari tent has an open air en-suite bathroom with hot water bucket showers and toilet. The wooden framed beds have soft cotton linens and are lit with solar powered lights at night. All the tents have a small charging station as well as a fan for the warmer months of the year.
At the center of the camp is the main Meru tent where you will find comfortable couches and a communal dining table for meals.
The camp hosts just eight guests making this a very exclusive experience in a very remote area. Meals are created by a very talented team who make use of freshly grown produce they grow on their own farms.
