Description
Nyamatusi Camp
Mana Pools
Nyamatusi Camp has been perfectly located on the banks of the Zambezi River, one of the oldest rivers in the world. The camp and the location epitomize luxury in the design and the calming panoramic views that are enjoyed from every vantage point. Completely solar powered it’s sustainable design and natural materials blend in beautifully with her wilderness location.
Roughly translated the word Nyamatusi means “wild game” where guests enjoy the very best of interactions with the wildlife that call this paradise home. Days are spent walking the banks and riverine forests of this incredible wildlife preserve. The gentle giants of the African bush can often be seen balancing on their hind legs in search of the sweet seed pods of Winter thorn trees’.
With the relocation of packs of African Wild Dogs from Hwange National Park, once extinct from Mana Pools, their sightings are much more regular. Catch and release fishing on the river, canoe trips, birding and game drives are some of the activities to be enjoyed each day.
Children over the age of 7 years are welcome at Nyamatusi Camp. Due to the nature of safari activities at Mana Pools, walking safaris and canoeing are restricted to children over the age of sixteen years.
Safari Suites
Nyamatusi Camp has just six luxury tented suites that all boast the most incredible views over the river with the escarpment in the background. Each tent is spacious with soft linens and towels as well as air conditioning for the hotter months of the year. Indoor and outside showers, private viewing decks and a small plunge pool make the suites hard to leave for any reason!
