Pelo Camp
Okavango Delta
Pelo means “heart” in the local Setswana language. The camp is situated on an island and is surrounded by permanent water making this the perfect location for water based activities, birding, fishing and game drives. Walking safaris are seasonal. The 150 000 acre concession has an excellent diversity of landscapes and habitats that support myriad wildlife and birds.
Water channels cut their way through papyrus and reeds as you silently move through the water on your mokoro. Experienced water guides will point out frogs, birds and the occasional pods of hippo. Beautiful and lush palm islands dot the landscape and support a stunning array of birds. In the marsh areas herds of Red Lechwe are followed by Lion and Leopard.
Boating, mokoros, walking safaris (pre booking is essential), birding and fishing will keep your holiday exciting and interesting with the experienced guides of Pelo. Scenic helicopter flights and day trips to the Tsodilo Hills can also be arranged on prior request.
Safari Tents
Five spacious tents all overlook the surrounding water. Each with a private deck for relaxing during the day, bird watch from he comfort of your tent.
Children 13 years and older are welcome in the camp and to join in the activities. Children from 13 – 16 must share a tent with an adult and minimum age for activities is 13 years.
