&Beyond Phinda Mountain Lodge
Phinda Private Game Reserve
Phinda Mountain Lodge lies within Phinda Private Game Reserve and is a vast area of 28 555 hectares (70 560 acres) that is all protected wilderness. With seven distinct habitats, the reserve is frequently described as being seven areas of absolute wonder. It is a beautiful combination of woodland, grassland, wetland and forest all interspersed with mountain ranges, rivers, marshes and pans.
The reserve is extremely close to the unspoiled beaches and spectacular coral reefs of the Indian Ocean. This allows guests a unique opportunity to combine both beach and bush.
Phinda is home to Africa’s Big Five (Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Buffalo and Rhino), as well as 436 bird species. The reserve is particularly well known for close-up sightings of the elegant yet elusive Cheetah.
Perched on a dramatic hill top with panoramic views of the spectacular Ubombo mountain range, and the surrounding bush, Mountain Lodge is a dramatic safari destination. The lodge comprises 16 suites, three family cottages (two rooms each) and the exclusive family suite which presents an eagle eye view of the reserve below.
