Phinda Private Game Reserve
&Beyond Phinda Rock Lodge lies within Phinda Private Game Reserve and is a vast area of 28 555 hectares (70 560 acres) that is all protected wilderness. With seven distinct habitats, the reserve is frequently described as being seven areas of absolute wonder. It is a beautiful combination of woodland, grassland, wetland and forest all interspersed with mountain ranges, rivers, marshes and pans.
The reserve is extremely close to the unspoiled beaches and spectacular coral reefs of the Indian Ocean. This allows guests a unique opportunity to combine both beach and bush.
Phinda is home to Africa’s Big Five (Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Buffalo and Rhino), as well as 436 bird species. The reserve is particularly well known for close-up sightings of the elegant yet elusive Cheetah.
Perfectly nestled into a cliff face overlooking Leopard Rock, &Beyond Phinda Rock Lodge is a delight to the eye of amazing design. It’s six suites are seemingly suspended over the deep valley below, providing breath-taking views.
Accommodation
The romantic suites have been contoured from stone and boast earthy tones and wooden shutters and doors. These open onto a private plunge pool and viewing deck. With spacious en-suite bathrooms, the suites also offer outdoor showers for a real African safari experience.
The lodge has been decorated with neutral tones to provide an intimate and warm guest area. The main deck is a perfect viewing point for spotting the reserve’s abundant bird life and the wildlife roaming the bush below. Huge French doors open onto an extended deck which is perfect for evening meals.
A rooftop terrace provides a romantic venue for dining beneath the stars. Striking, A bush dinner arranged by the lodge is a magical evening of dining amongst the wildlife and wilderness of Africa. Guests are treated like family and time is shared with fellow safari adventurers, who soon become friends.
