Description
Belmond Savute Elephant Lodge
Chobe Game Reserve
Belmond Savute Elephant Lodge lies in the Northern area of Chobe National Park. Overlooking the mystery of the ever changing Savute Channel the landscape is predominantly savanna interspersed with Mopane woodlands. Recently renovated into a decor of the old colonial times the lodge is a luxurious retreat inspired by the early explorers to Africa.
The cuisine at Savute Elephant Lodge is nothing short of incredible! Dining is in the main lodge area under star studded African skies or in the boma area. The staff make every effort at ingenuity with the meals and where they are served. An elevated pool deck has stunning views over the Channel, the waterhole and the myriad wildlife that are constant visitors.
The area is most famous for it’s incredible predator sightings including Lion, Leopard and Hyena. Wild Dogs are sometimes sighted but this is an exception. Elephant and Buffalo vie for space at the waterhole with much trumpeting and rushing about to get the best places. For guests interested in the history of the area the Gubatsa Hills provide insight into the early inhabitants of the area.
During the seasonal Zebra migration guests on a 3 night stay can embark on a full day safari with picnic subject to the availability of vehicles.
