Description
Semliki Safari Lodge
Semliki Safari Lodge is situated in the Albertine Rift Valley. The area is geographically interesting as the mountains have created the perfect forest habitat for an incredibly divers amount of wildlife.
Endangered Chimpanzee, Colobus monkey, Kob, both savanna and forest Elephant are also found here. Shoebills are regularly seen on boat trips on Lake Albert. There is a dry habitat chimpanzee community living in the forest and guests can interact with the chimpanzee researchers.
Semliki Safari Lodge is both intimate and quite secluded. The main lodge sits on a hill overlooking the riverine valley with the Rwenzori mountains in the distance. A large dining area, couches with stunning views and traditional art are the main features of the lodge. A patio with bar and swimming pool area provides fantastic forest views. This is a great location for relaxing during the hot afternoons. Staff at Semliki are fantastic and pamper guests with great service in a very tranquil environment.
Semliki is open year round and the weather for the most part is idyllic. December to March can be hot and dry while April to June is quite rainy. During July and September it is dry with occasional thunderstorms and October and November bring short but heavy rains. Temperatures are typically warm this close to the Equator but a warm jacket may be necessary for the evenings and early mornings.
Semliki is an excellent location for an intimate African safari in a beautifully mountainous region of Uganda, one we know you love and enjoy.
