Description

Serengeti River Camp

The Mara Crossing

June to October

Located within 600 meters of the famous Mara River, Serengeti River Camp is a permanent tented camp that provides the best access to the migration river crossings that take place each year. Acacia trees’ provide welcome shade during the warmer months and lend an air of mystery to the camp.

The distance from the camp to the river is a distinct advantage to this camp as guests are able to have a leisurely breakfast before departing in game drive vehicles to find the perfect position from which to witness the crossings.

The main guest tent has a dining area, small bar and an extensive lounge area from which to relax. Three sides of this tent are open and with the camp being un-fenced there is constant wildlife moving past. The bar area is small but very welcome and there is a fire each evening around which to enjoy pre dinner drinks.

Luxury Safari Tents

The 15 safari tents at River Camp are very comfortable, spacious and tastefully decorated with all the fittings of any 5 star hotel. One of the tents has been made up for families with a double bed and two twins through an inter leading canvas door.

Each tent has a small veranda at the front with chairs and side tables. The interior has a writing desk, 2 small couches and a coffee table. Despite all this the rooms are not crowded and there is plenty of space for luggage and the double or twin beds.

En-suite bathrooms have been well designed with ample space for a small framed wardrobe, toilet, vanity basin and shower cubicle.
