Description
Sosian Lodge
Laikipia Highlands
Sosian Lodge was completely renovated in 2002 and is a working cattle ranch with over 1600 head of cattle. The main guest building is styled in the Argentinian architecture with wide lawns and high ceilings. The area is safe to walk around during the day however at night it’s not uncommon for Elephant to wander through.
There is a swimming pool on the grounds and a short walk away is a waterfall which is a great excursion for children and to swim or go tubing. Horse riding is of course the main attraction here and the lodge caters to all ages and experience.
Morning, afternoon and night game drives are possible from the ranch as well as game walks and overnight fly camping. Lion and Leopard sightings close to the camp have been some of the best big cat viewing we have ever seen.
Accommodation
There are 7 rooms at Sosian, one of which is a family room. Three of the rooms are double and the remainder can be made up as double or twin rooms. All of the rooms are separate cottage style structures set to either side of the main house and have wide patios’ with sun loungers.
Rooms are bright and spacious with chairs and optional mosquito nets. All the rooms can be made into triples on request and the family room has a double room with en-suite and a triple room with en-suite bathroom. A dedicated honeymoon cottage is available for guests looking for some privacy.
Sosian is all about relaxation and the pace is set by yourself though there is a wide array of activities to tempt you or for the children.
