Sanctuary Sussi and Chuma
Sanctuary Sussi & Chuma is built on a dramatic bend of the Zambezi River in the Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park. The lodge is located twelve kilometres upstream from the Victoria Falls. Named after David Livingstone’s faithful friends, Sussi and Chuma, the lodge lies amidst stands of Jackalberry trees’ and Phoenix palms.
The main lodge building has a raised bar, lounge area and deck with space for al fresco dining under the stars. A curio shop and swimming pool offer refreshment and a place to support the local craftspeople. Spa treatments are also available in a treatment room overlooking the Zambezi River.
Guest accommodation consists of 12 luxury tree-houses that have been built into the canopy of trees’ that line the river banks. Each suite is connect by wooden walkways as well as to the main guest area. The rooms are luxurious to say the least and amenities include air conditioning, en-suite bathroom with bath tub, private viewing deck, mini-bar, mosquito nets, overhead fans and hairdryer.
The two Chuma Houses offer a spacious lounge and dining room area with an outdoor deck and private plunge pool. Guests staying in the Chuma houses are also provided with their own private chef as well as private vehicle and guide. The amenities here include air conditioning, mosquito nets, hair dryer, room safe and mini bar.
