Description
Taasa Lodge
Loliondo Concession : Serengeti National Park
Just 5 kilometers from Klein’s Gate into the Serengeti National Park, Taasa Lodge lies on her own 60 acre hillside perch. As the lodge is outside the National Park boundaries both night drives and walking safaris can be conducted here, greatly enhancing the safari experience.
The main guest area is a large building with floor to ceiling glass windows that afford excellent views out over the plains of the Serengeti. There is a bar that has a very good range of wines from South Africa as well as bar chairs and sofas, this is a great location for pre or post dinner drinks. On a lower tier, down a few step, is the main dining area that seats guests at individual tables for dinner. If the weather permits these tables are set up on the veranda outside and makes for an incredible dinner.
Children of all ages are welcome at Taasa Lodge and hot air balloon safaris can be arranged in advance. Game viewing here is at it’s absolute best in July and August as the Migration moves North. In September and October the heard appear again as they make their way to the South of the park. Each guest is entitled to one guided bush walk and one night drive during their stay.
Safari Suites
There are 15 suites at Taasa Lodge, each has it’s own raised concrete base and sits under a tin roof for protection from the elements. While the walls are canvas the sensation is one of complete comfort and while the décor may seem slightly eclectic we found the rooms to be great.
The lounge area is on the lower section of the room while up two stairs is the bed itself, there is ample room for a luggage rack and cupboard.
