Description

Tarangire River Camp

Tarangire National Park

Closed 1 – 30 April

Set on the banks of the Tarangire River and within 25 000 hectares of concession area is the Mbali Mbali Tarangire River Camp. The lodge and rooms overlook the river and views from almost everywhere stretch out over the landscape. The lodge is an ideal location for game viewing and is only 3.5 kilometers from the entrance to the National Park.

The main guest area at the lodge, like the guest accommodations, has made use of the traditional grass thatching and has been raised onto a wooden deck to maximize the views. The lounge area is open and a very welcome area in which to relax on a couch, coffee or cocktail in hand and bask in the magic of the area.

Communal meals are served in the dining area and both are joined by a fire area for enjoying pre-dinner drinks and to share the days safari stories. A small curio shop is stocked with items made by the local Masai villagers. Children of all ages are welcome at the lodge.

Safari Tents

Tarangire River lodge has 20 safari styled tents, each covered with a protective thatch roof to keep them cool. Seven of the rooms have double beds with a further seven with twin beds. There are five family tents that can be configured depending on the number of children under 18 years of age.

One of the rooms has been made up as a luxury safari tent with it’s own private pool out on the deck.

All the rooms are very spacious with plenty of room around the four poster bed that is enveloped with a mosquito net in the evenings.
