Your safari starts in Maun, Botswana and ends in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe

The Magic of Three explores the rich diversity of Zimbabwe, Botswana and Zambia. For those with an adventurous streak and a thirst for a safari that fuses the very best game viewing areas of each.

Botswana is a paradise for mobile tented safaris and attracts the most discerning of travellers. The Khwai area is well known for it’s beauty and pristine waterways. Located on the banks of the Khwai River your first camp is solitude personified. Mokoro trips explore the wonders of the diverse ecosystems and game drives reveal all the large mammals of this concession.

From Khwai a light aircraft will deliver you to the riverside paradise of Thorntree River Lodge. A luxurious retreat not far from the mighty Victoria Falls. This area is perfect for adrenaline activities, sublime sunset cruises and the majesty of the Falls in full flood. Spend three nights in this stunning location and get ready for Hwange!

Somalisa Camp in Hwange National Park resides in her own concession ensuring the very best wildlife sightings and interactions. The area is dense with Elephant herds that visit the camp literally all day long. Ngweshla Pan is a favorite hunting ground for prides of Lions. Antelope create a stead stream of meals as they come down to drink at the dam. Lions roaring at night will keep you on the edge of your bed – or under it.

The Magic of Three gives veterans or first time safari goers an exciting glimpse into each country and its beauty. Khwai is excellent for Leopard and the Mokoro excursions. Thorntree and Victoria Falls says it all. Somalisa perfect for Lions and Elephants as well as diverse other creatures.

How to Get There

Fly in

Fly in to Maun in Botswana from a variety of different locations. Airlines that fly to Maun include South African Airways and SA Airlink.

On arrival in Maun you will be met by your safari representative and assisted onto a light aircraft for your flight to the Linyanti.

Full Itinerary

 

Day 1 to 4 – Khwai Tented Camp

A scattering of palm-dotted islands, flood plains and woodland make up the Khwai concession and typifies the region’s unique landscape. The area is known for its abundant wildlife, especially predators including lions, leopards and the rare African wild dog. Khwai tented camp is unstated luxury, attentive service and the epitome of relaxation.

Day 4 to 7 – Thorntree River Lodge

Paradise awaits at Thorntree River Lodge. Choose to spend your days relaxing on the floating deck and traversing the Zambezi River by boat, or go exploring get swept away by the numerous activities the area has to offer. Stand in wonder in front of break-taking Victoria Falls or experience them from a different angle by helicopter or bungee jump.

Day 7 to 10 – Somalisa Camp

Finish your African adventure at Somalisa Camp which is set in its own private concession in the heart of Hwange National Park. Somalisa is renowned for attracting large elephant herds to its elephant pool in front of camp. Somalisa was also awarded the first GOLD Green Tourism Certification in Zimbabwe and is credited as being the leading eco-friendly safari destination in Zimbabwe.
